Qualifacts’ Collaborative Model is on a Roll
Last week, the Behavioral Health Services Association of South Carolina’s 33 addiction services providers kicked off their implementation of the CareLogic Enterprise electronic health record. Together, this group of agencies constitutes the addictions treatment and prevention service network in South Carolina and is Qualifacts’ 29th provider consortium.
Qualifacts introduced the collaborative EHR implementation model six years ago to make the EHR purchase even more affordable, and today almost 50% of Qualifacts’ customers have taken advantage of this program.
John Coffin, president of BHSA, outlined why this model – which is exclusive to Qualifacts – was right for their group of providers:
After a yearlong review of EHR software providers, we chose Qualifacts as the company best suited to meet our needs in the diverse, complex and competitive behavioral healthcare market of the future. We are excited about this choice and look forward to a rewarding partnership that will improve efficiency, quality of care and services to our clients.
Qualifacts’ cloud-based, true software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model is what makes collaborative implementation possible and successful. Every CareLogic Enterprise user is using the same version of the same product at all times. This collaboration extends beyond the implementation phase to help agencies identify best-practices for both clinical and operational workflows.
According to Gregg Boyle, CTO of Qualifacts, EHR collaboratives are an ideal solution for the changing future of healthcare:
The collaboration model is also finding support because of the care coordination efforts stemming from healthcare reform and meaningful use. As specialty behavioral health providers need to connect with other systems of care, it’s easier to plug in a large provider collaborative than one provider at a time.
We will continue to check back in on the success of this project in the coming weeks.
